Academy e-letter
Volume 7, Number 3

From the Desk of J. R. Brandt DC, FACO
President, Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists

The Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists and the editors of the Academy eJournal have announced a call for papers. As the eJournal has attained indexing through the Index of Chiropractic Literature (ICL), this represents a unique opportunity for doctors to share interesting cases and original articles.

There are many tangible and intangible benefits of publishing original research. For each case study that is accepted and published, the Academy will award six hours towards re-credentialing with the Academy. In addition to achieving credit through the Academy, a well written paper stimulates the author to higher levels of professional achievement, self-study and respect amongst one’s peers.

The Academy Board and eJournal editors recognize the challenges specific to authoring a well conceived, evidence-based manuscript. In this light, we would encourage our physicians to get their feet wet with a simple case report. We recognize that we all have interesting cases within our offices that are of clinical and instructive interest. It is vitally important to share these cases.

The Academy wishes to extend our support and guidance to prospective authors. We have developed new author guidelines that are available on the Academy web site. We encourage new authors to contact the Academy to obtain a referral to experienced editors who are available to assist authors during manuscript preparation. Please contact the Academy offices to obtain a referral to an editor at: (515) 981-9654.

The viability of chiropractic is dependent upon the efforts of our learned physicians. I encourage you to start writing and submit your manuscripts for publication in the Academy eJournal!

Thank you.
