Please make a note for your records.

We are pleased with the response this past year that we have received to our offering of a voluntary re-credentialing avenue for the Academy members. If you have not begun the process now is a good time to start. The Academy is pleased to announce some additional options and changes for this year. Please contact 515-981-9654 to have the current requirements sent to you. The duration period and cost have not changed (3 years and $105). Our newest source is www.dceducation.com. I suggest you log on and check it out. Credit hours are from Logan College. This may also be a source for your state requirements as well. The two courses that are acceptable are the eSpine and DCgradschool sections. Please check it out. The American College of Chiropractic Orthopedists (ACCO) will be having their convention in the Sonoma wine country this year. It will be held at the Vineyard Creek in Santa Rosa, CA. Dates are 04/25-27/03. We have made some changes regarding using the convention for our voluntary re-credentialing. You will be given multiple choice questions (MCQ’s) to take home and complete. The questions are provided by the instructors. The answers are to be returned to our Executive Director, Dr. Leonard Toon for completion and registration of your hours. There is a total of 18 hours at this convention. The convention topic is: “Addressing Health Issues of the Aging Majority”. The topics will include nutrition, HIPPA compliance for your office, Orthopedics and the maturing patient, CPR to include the defibrillator and extremity adjusting. Credit hours are from Los Angeles College.

The Academy is continually trying to upgrade and improve the voluntary re-credentialing process. Thank you for recommending to other chiropractic orthopedists to join the Academy. With increased membership we can accomplish more for the orthopedist. The Board appreciates your ideas and suggestions. A number of these are being implemented. Thank you!
